Cisneros, one of the leading privately held organizations in the
world of media and entertainment, telecommunications and digital commerce,
consumer products and services, and real estate and tourism development, is
honored to announce that its Chairman, Gustavo Cisneros, and its CEO, Adriana Cisneros, were bestowed the Brandon Tartikoff
Legacy Award, an industry distinction recognizing their decades of leadership,
passion and vision in the progression of television content.
As an integral part of international conference,
NATPE 2015, which continues at
the Fontainebleau
Resort in Miami Beach until January 22nd and brings
together television’s top professionals in an event that annually kicks off the
season’s content market for the world, the award presentation recognizes, year after
year, the contributions of the industry’s leading authorities with a tribute to
Brandon Tartikoff, one of the most successful programmers in television history.
During Wednesday evening’s ceremony,
which was hosted by Craig Ferguson, a number of industry dignitaries were equally
recognized, including Linda Bell Blue, Executive Producer of “Entertainment
Tonight” for 19 years; Jay Leno, Emmy Award-winning host of “The Tonight Show;”
Jonathan Murray, Chairman of Bunim/Murray Productions and credited as the creator
of the reality genre; and Ted Sarandos, who has led content acquisition for
Netflix since 2000.
Upon receiving the award along with his
daughter, Gustavo Cisneros proudly stated: “Standing
up here together accepting this award is very special in so many ways. It is a tribute to my father Diego, who
founded our company. He had the vision
55 years ago to set us on the path to be a great media company. I know that he would be so very proud of how
far we have taken our organization.
However, this honor would not be possible without the team
of talented and dedicated individuals who have worked with us, in the past and
present, to make Cisneros the company it is today. This award is for them as well.”
Cisneros recognizes the need for the
industry to evolve in correlation with new social habits and cultural tendencies
in order for their audiences to remain vigilant. Throughout its eight decades of history, the organization’s
success is credited to it remaining proactive and innovative, and in constant
evolution. A corporate mission inherited
and embraced by Adriana Cisneros, the third generation to head the company, who
highlighted how the digital media has transformed the perception of the world,
opening up great opportunity for the development of creative content and
innovative formats.
“Five years ago at Cisneros, we made a
complete transition into the digital era with the implementation of an aggressive
and comprehensive strategy that incorporates the systematic use of the latest technologies,
enabling us to offer integrated solutions to our clients and audiences that
entails all-inclusive content in a multitude of platforms,” she assured.
