content, today announced the signing of an exclusive worldwide representation
deal with the world-renowned family of Brazilian film: the Barreto’s.

Since founding their production
company in 1961, LC Barreto has
produced and co-produced more than 80 short and feature films, many of them
considered an integral part of Latin America’s cultural and artistic heritage. During the past 50 years, Barreto family
productions have been featured in international film festivals around the
world, including Shanghai (China), San Francisco (USA), Huelva (Spain),
Sorrento (Italy), and Montevideo (Uruguay), receiving numerous awards and
recognitions in Latin America, North America, Europe, and Asia.

One of the jewels of their catalog is “Dona Flor and Her Two Husbands”
(1976), which was nominated for a Golden Globe as Best Foreign Film and held the
Brazilian national box-office record for 35 years. Starring Sonia Braga, the
internationally acclaimed film was directed by Bruno Barreto and
produced by his parents, Luiz Carlos and Lucy Barreto.
Other titles include the biographical film based on
the early life of former Brazilian president Luiz
Inácio Lula da Silva, “Lula, the Son of
Brazil” (2009), as well as a variety of productions of diverse styles and
genres, ranging from the romantic comedy, such as “Bossa Nova” (2000),
to the political drama, like “Memoirs of Prison”
(1984), obtaining international awards, jump-starting the careers of world-renowned
actors and directors, and setting box-office records.
